he Academy of Astrological Studies is dedicated to the in-depth and rigorous study of Astrology. Its objective is to prepare future astrologers and contribute to the development of astrological knowledge. Its main activities are teaching, research and its dissemination.
Dissemination is achieved through the publication of articles and research papers, lectures, seminars, workshops and conferences. For the more astrologically educated public, the Academy organizes periodic seminars and conferences with Portuguese and foreign astrologers.

The Academy’s research body is responsible for a number of projects encompassing several areas of research.

The objectives of the Academy of Astrological Studies are:

1. to address the various applications of astrological knowledge in a cohesive and practical way;

2. to base the study of Astrology on an in-depth knowledge of its historical root, placing contemporary approaches in their proper context;

3. to complement technical instruction with a strong ethical component, emphasizing the responsible application of acquired knowledge;

4. to contribute to the responsible, structured and well-grounded practice of Astrology in the area of consultation as well as in teaching and investigation.

istory

The Academy derives from the Escola de Astrologia Integrada (School of Integrated Astrology) founded in 1999 by Helena Avelar and Luis Ribeiro. From this time the activities of the school developed and expanded necessitating a new structure. In 2004 The Academy of Astrological Studies was established to accommodate future expansion and to maintain its educational standards, goals and purpose.
